The JetBlue Card is an airline reward credit card from American
Express available to those with good credit history who travel
frequently with JetBlue Airways. JetBlue has airlines all
over the United States. They cover numerous destinations offering
various itineraries to their travelers. There are three card
designs available for the JetBlue card, which are inspired
by the JetBlue airplane tailfins.
Once you become a JetBlue cardholder you are automatically
enrolled in the JetBlue frequent flier program called Trueblue.
Members will earn one Award Dollar on their TrueBlue account
for each dollar spent on their credit card. Members will earn
double Award Dollars on purchases made on JetBlue flights,
as well as purchases made on certain entertainment pursuits
including restaurants, movie theaters, sporting events, golf
courses, performing arts events, and gym memberships. 200
Award Dollars will equal one TrueBlue point, and 100 accumulated
TrueBlue points equal one round trip flight anywhere TrueBlue
Airways travels.
The member will receive a bonus of 5,000 Award Dollars, after
the first purchase with the card, amounting to 25 TrueBlue
points towards the 100 points needed for a free round trip
ticket. TrueBlue points and awards are valid for one year
after which they expire. A member can earn as many Award Dollars
as possible in a given amount of time. You can redeem the
points over the telephone through the TrueBlue members program.
JetBlue Card from American Express besides being an airline
reward card is also a platinum card and offers members the
usual benefits offered by other platinum credit cards. These
include zero liability for unauthorized charges, extended
warranties on purchases, car rental loss and damage insurance,
emergency card replacement, and travel and medical assistance
services. Thus the JetBlue Card serves as a dual purpose card
which makes it very convenient for the cardholder.
The JetBlue card charges an annual fee of $40, which is comparable
to other airline rewards cards at this level. It has a fixed
introductory APR of 3.99% for the first six billing cycles,
and a standard variable APR after that. Those with good and
stable credit ratings will benefit by receiving a fairly low
APR and higher credit limits with this card.
The JetBlue Card is beneficial to frequent travelers. It
is easy to accumulate the frequent flier miles that can make
those flights cost much less in the long run. To get maximum
benefit from this card the cardholder should maintain a good
credit rating, pay off his balances on time to avoid higher
charges, and take full advantage of the awarded airline miles.
