The Citi Platinum Select Card for College Students is a platinum
credit card that is specially made for students and issued
by Citibank. By virtue of it being platinum, the target market
for this card is students with a good credit rating. Students
can avail of number of benefits due to it being platinum.
There is no annual fee on the card and it is available to
supplementary cardholders at no extra cost. The credit card
also offers a twenty day grace period to cardholders.
The Citi Platinum Select Card for College Students offers
an introductory 0% interest rate for six months. This rate
applies to balance transfers, new purchases as well as cash
advances. Once the initial period expires the variable interest
rate charged on new purchases rises to 15.49 percent, and
the variable interest rate charged on cash advances goes up
to 20.49 percent.
However, there are some charges associated with the Citibank
Card. Over the limit accounts are charged $35 and late repayments
cardholders between $15 and $39 depending on the balance of
the credit card. Balance transfers are charged at three percent
or five dollars minimum, with a $75 maximum charge per balance
transfer transaction. If you want a cash advance on your credit
card, you might have to pay a minimum of five dollars or three
percent.
The student credit card also has a number of benefits such
as travel insurance, car rental cover, medical and legal referral
services, protection against fraudulent transactions, and
a lost wallet service. Additionally, cardholders enjoy online
account services, purchase protection, extended warranties
and a variety of student discounts.
